Career Coaches: Talk About Automation Displacement
The best career coaches are intimately familiar with the industries their clients work in. They stay up-to-date with current trends and are able to guide their clients using relevant and targeted questions to guide their clients to achieve a particular goal. After all, you wouldn’t hire a career coach who specializes in e-commerce businesses if you are a nurse.
But, being knowledgable in the current trends don’t cut it. Technology is displacing workers in more and more industries. Life coaches have an obligation to learn about the future of the industries they focus on. When it comes to technology, many life coaches are stuck in their ways just as much as their clients are.
Just think about this for a moment: Even here at New World Optimist, we are working on automating the life coaching profession. Our AI Chatbot is learning more and more every day. And, we’re not alone. Soon, you may find yourself losing clients to a chatbot. Food for thought.
The numbers we hear are just estimates. They really do not reflect the current situation workers face. Even small companies are looking for ways to automate and improve workflow, as much as they can afford, anyway. Big business doesn’t have the same issue with cash flow as smaller businesses, but it still takes time to plan even small automation projects.
And, on a daily basis, more companies form to design and provide automation services to both big and small business. The age of automation is in full swing. Career coaches should be trained to recognize when a client may be in denial of certain external factors, like automation. Otherwise, you are setting your client up for failure. Setup too many clients for failure and, soon, you will no longer have any clients.
